Lay School of the Church
The purpose of the Lay School of the Church is to assist lay people to more ably fullfil their commitments to God and to the church through an education program designed to better equip them for ministry.
Areas of service may include teaching children, youth and adults; personal enrichment; serving as Sunday School Superintendent; leading a book study; directing Vacation Bible School; spiritual development; leading a Bible study group; serving as a youth leader; assisting with confirmation education; leading worship or serving as liturgist; advising boards and committees; conducting a spirituality group; taking charge of new member classes; educating the church for local mission work; lay preaching when the pastor is not available; serving as a licensed minister and many other activities according to the needs of the particular congregation.
