The Rev. Donna Brooks
The Rev. Donna Brooks is the Interim Association Minister for the Western Reserve Association, Ohio Conference, UCC. Rev. Donna Brooks came to ministry after a long career as a nurse and administrator. Raised in Wyoming, Donna graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York in 1969. Shortly after Donna and her husband Keith moved to the Cleveland area. Donna received a doctoral degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in 1986 and she worked as an administrator for several health care organizations. God’s call was very strong in the midst of that work, and Donna graduated from Methodist Theological Seminary. Rev. Brooks found great joy in ministry and she served two wonderful congregations as pastor and worked also as a hospital chaplain.
Donna also found work in the Association deeply meaningful, working on many committees and departments and serving for a time as Moderator of the WRA. Throughout those years, Donna felt God’s gentle “nudging” to judicatory work. Donna writes: “ Being able now to serve this Association as Interim Association Minister is both humbling and a sacred privilege!”
Donna has bee a frequent presenter of Called to Care and Boundary workshops, has completed the Interim Ministry Network training, and has training in conflict management.
Donna and Keith have four grown children and two granddaughters , all of whom bring great joy!
